Networking for Small Business Owners
About Parenting Business Connections
Parenting Business Connections is a strong and supportive community for business owners whose ideal clients are parents.
Since launching in 2021, the community has grown to over 2,300 members, with networking sessions and membership introduced to enhance the many connections and collaborations already forming.
Your host and founder
I’m Sarah Davis, a former teacher and the host and founder of Parenting Business Connections. I’m also The Parenting Copywriter, writing website and blog copy for small business owners who work with parents.
In June 2021, I wanted to join a Facebook group for people who work with parents, but I couldn’t find one – so I created one!
I host the regular Zoom sessions and run the Facebook group and the membership, with support from the rest of the team. They are my ‘go to’ people, not just for PBC-related things, but for business advice and services too. We are all parents ourselves, as well as working with parents, so we totally understand the work and family juggle and the importance of support.
Kathryn Ball
Kathryn is a life coach, who writes the ‘Thursday Thoughts’ post each week in the group. She has been in the membership since it started. Her posts are always full of insight and empathy and focused on topics of interest to parents who are juggling family life with running a business.
Kim Scotland
Kim is a website developer and software engineer, who is streamlining the tech processes in Parenting Business Connections. She’s also built our Parenting Business Connections website.
James Mossop
James is a brand designer, who has created the branding and logo for the group and the graphics for our posts.
Steph Black
Steph works with business owners to help them to create flexible income. She helps with scheduling PBC posts and with group admin.
Our ethos and mission
At Parenting Business Connections, we believe that the best way to connect and make sales is through conversations, rather than pitches, so you won’t find timed pitches or hard sell tactics in our networking sessions.
Instead, there are mini-breakout rooms, so you can get to know the people behind each business, as well as what they offer.
It’s a relaxed way to meet like-minded people who share your target audience and it often leads to more memorable connections, natural referrals, recommendations and sales.
What our members say
“The group is fun, friendly, supportive and so welcoming. Even after one session, I felt like I had got to know people and wanted to join the membership so that I could go every week.
I even changed my working day in my part time job so I could attend.”
Gill Sealey
Neurospicy Parenting
“I joined this networking group at the beginning of the year and I absolutely love it! It’s full of the friendliest people. I have found clients via this group and I have also paid others for help with my business. The space is incredibly supportive and full of business owners who understand the challenges of running a business from home.”
